The move from a single user trial to a multi-user activiry is rarely well-planned. Many users simply install another copy of the software and hope for the best. Scooter must take that into account.
| Essential functionality includes: |
| 1. First stage of setup will be to create a username/password pair. |
| 2. During setup, Scooter will probe the LAN for other copies of its database and see if they allow login using the username/password pair. It will also probe for active SQL Server and MySQL servers. |
| 3. At the last stages of setup, user will be asked if they want to be a single or multi-user system. Then appropriate dialogs based on the avaiability of other servers will be presented. |
| 4. As preferences and templates are in the database, adding a new user will simply mean adding a new username/password pair. For perfomance reasons the user may want local installs but it will be able to run from a shared network drive using the personalistio/templates in the database. |
